Trailer lessons & TESTING
No theory test required
Test carried out from Craigavon / Belfast or Derry
Group bookings available
If you have passed your car test after the 1st January 1997. You will have to pass a trailer test to be able to tow a trailer over 750 kg, i.e. house box, caravan, cattle trailer. To confirm this check your driving licence to see if you have category B+E dated on your licence, if not, you will need to take a trailer test.
1 . WHAT IS THE TRAILER TEST?
A) Off road manoeuvre
- Reverse exercise
- Re-couple
- Uncouple
- Controlled stop
B) On the road drive
- Be able to move off from the side of the road safely
- Pull in and stop at a safe and convenient place
- Complete an angle start
- Complete a down hill start
THE TEST DURATION LASTS APPROXIMATELY 1HR 15MINS
MUST HOLD FULL LICENCE CATEGORY B
2 . TRAINING HOURS
- 1 hours car and trailer training
- 2 day course 8 hrs (4 hrs per day)
- 1 hour lesson and use of Jeep and trailer on test day
