FLEET DRIVER TRAINING

LLOYDS are a dedicated Occupational Driver Assessment and Training School, designed to reduce the amount of accidents on our roads today. We offer corporate driver training specifically tailored to suit your company's needs.

As specialists in our field, we provide a high quality training and assessment service for companies throughout UK / Ireland. The courses they provide have many benefits to employers as well as complying with the law. The assessment is carried out in your vehicle and a full written report will be issued.

LLOYDS offer one to one training for drivers. The assessors and trainers are highly qualified and come from good transport and tuition backgrounds. We only use fleet registered assessors and trainers.

Many employers believe that provided they comply with certain road traffic law requirements, (e.g. a full valid license and the vehicle has an MOT certificate), that this is enough to ensure the safety of the employee and others, when they are on the road. This is incorrect!

2 . Legistation

In addition to the duties you have as an employer under the road traffic law you also must take into consideration Health and Safety.

The Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 requires you to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the health and safety of all employees while at work. You also have a responsibility to ensure that others are not put at risk by your work-related driving activities.

Under the management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, you have a responsibility to manage health and safety effectively. You need to carry out an assessment of risks to the health and safety of your employees, while they are at work, and to other people who may be affected by their work activities. The regulations require you to periodically review your risk assessment so that it remains appropriate.

3 . UK Statistics

It has been estimated that a third of all road traffic accidents involve somebody who is at work. This could account for 20 fatalities and 250 serious injuries every week!

Many incidents happen due to inattention and distraction as well as failure to observe the Highway Code. This is where you as the employer should consider the steps to ensure your employees are as safe as possible on the road.
